How does an exhaust air heat pump work?
Exhaust air heat pump utilizes the heat in the house's exhaust air, which is normally removed with ventilation. PILP collects the heat energy and transfers it to the home's heating and hot water production. At the same time, the device continuously takes care of bringing fresh outdoor air inside and removing pollutants from the indoor air.
In an exhaust air heat pump, a refrigerant circulates, which changes its state between gas and liquid. First, the liquid refrigerant is led to the evaporator, where it evaporates. At this stage, heat is collected from the heat recovery. The evaporated substance is compressed more tightly in the compressor, which raises its temperature to about 100 degrees. The heated refrigerant is led to the condenser, where the collected heat energy is released. This causes the substance to change its state again, this time from gas to liquid, after which the process starts again.
